Office workers have been left stunned following the tragic death of a colleague who slipped down a river gully on Ben Nevis.
Andrew Tedder, 49, was an affinity customer service leader with the Royal Sun Alliance, Dean Clough, Halifax.
He was descending the Scottish mountain when he slipped from a tourist path and fell into a steep river gully at about 10 pm last Friday.
Lochaber mountain rescue were alerted and found him dead at the scene.
An RSA spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with Andy’s family and friends at this tragic time. He had been with us for four years and he will be greatly missed.
“We are working with those that knew him to help them at this trying time.”
Mr Tedder, of Emley, Huddersfield, and his wife, Sue, were involved with Emley Clarence Cricket Club.
Ben Nevis attracts 100,000 hillwalkers and climbers every year.
