CALDERDALE’S historical gems will open their doors to the public for National Heritage Days.
The dates span Thursday September 8 to Sunday September 11. Landmarks open to the public are:
All Saints’ Church, Elland, Saturday 10.30am to 4.30pm; The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Elland, on Friday 10am to 2pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm; Clay House, Greetland, on Sunday 1pm to 3pm.
Bankfield Museum, Halifax, on Thursday 10am to 5pm, Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 1pm to 4pm; Halifax Minster on Thursday 10am to 4pm, Friday 10am to 4pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm; Halifax Playhouse on Saturday 10am to 4pm; Halifax Town Hall on Saturday 11am to 4pm, tours 11am and 2pm, Sunday noon to 4pm, tours 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
Piece Hall, Halifax, with tours on Saturday and Sunday at 11.45am and 1.45pm; Shibden Hall, Halifax, on Saturday from 1am to 5pm and Sunday noon to 5pm; Square Chapel Centre for the Arts, a family open day on Saturday noon to 4pm, Sunday noon to 4pm; St John the Baptist Church, Coley, on Saturday 2pm to 5pm and Sunday 2pm to 4pm. St Peter’s Church, Sowerby, on Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm; Victoria Theatre will hold tours on Friday at 11am and 2pm; Wainhouse Tower, Halifax, on Sunday 10am to 7pm; Hardcastle Crags and Gibson Mill, Hebden Bridge, on Thursday 11am to 4pm, Saturday 11am to 4pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm; Hebden Bridge Picture House on Saturday 11am to 1pm.

There will be a walk around Brighouse town centre on Saturday at 10.30am and Smith Art Gallery, Brighouse, will open on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
