Party-goers may have had to flee a park because of stormy weather but they still managed to raise money for groups in their area.
Action for Pellon Community Group had planned a Halloween-themed party at Sandsbed Park in Pellon but when heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightning hit, they had to relocate to Pellon Network Centre. Their guests still managed to enjoy a host of activities including a cave bus and games. The day raised £150 which will go in a community pot which supports groups in the area. Action for Pellon Community Group also used the event to present money it has raised for two charities. They gave £100 to The Firefighters Charity and £100 to Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team, based in Mytholmroyd.
