The Courier Community Spirit Awards are almost here - we want to know WHO stands out as a shining example and WHO YOU will be nominating...
The awards ceremony will take place July 18 at Bertie’s, Elland, in a star studded evening filled with outstanding individuals and organisations who take selfless and spirited steps to make a BIG difference to the people and communities of Calderdale.
This year’s categories are:
Best New Charity;
Public Servant: recognising the work of someone in nursing, fire service, police;
Little Gem: a person under 21 who has inspired other young people;
Good Neighbour: a great asset to your local community;
Community School: a school or college achieving optimum levels between staff, students and community;
Investment in the Community: a social doer who gets things done;
Community Champion: an all-round pillar of the community;
Charity of the Year;
New Category: Foster Carer of the Year.
Give some recognition to the people who go that extra mile to make this world a better place; for me and you.
Chief Executive for Community Foundation For Calderdale Steve Duncan said: “There’s something very special about the community of Calderdale helping the vulnerable and disadvantaged even in the most challenging economic times. The Community Spirit Awards is a superb opportunity to celebrate all that’s great about Calderdale.”
