Foster carer of the year - sponsored by Pennine Housing 2000

This category recognises some of the most selfless people in our community - foster carers. They welcome society’s most vulnerable children into their homes and this award celebrates their dedicated work.

Calderdale Foster Carers Association (CFCA) work hard all year round to support foster carers across the borough.

The group arranges a number of events throughout the year for all fostering households to enjoy, from Christmas parties to halloween discos, rollerblading and much more.

And regular coffee and support mornings offer a listening ear to those who foster across the borough.

The group also works alongside the authority as a voice for all carers - they do all this in their own time and put 100 per cent effort into all they do.

The inspirational work of of the CFCA is easy to see and judges were impressed with the work they do to represent all carers, providing a voice for those who take on such an important role in communities across Calderdale.
