There’s just two more days to get your nominations for this year’s Community Spirit Awards.
The awards evening, held at Berties at La Cachette on July 9, is an opportunity for the Courier and local sponsoring businesses to pay special thanks to individuals and charities working at the grass roots of our communities.
With awards in 12 categories, there’s plenty of opportunity to celebrate those who work to make Calderdale the caring and conscientious place we know and love.
In particular we would love to hear from those “all round” players for our Investment in the Community category - do you know an individual who has developed innovative ways of fundraising for a great cause or charity?
Or maybe you would like to shout about a fantastic foster carer who has welcomed some of Calderdale’s most vulnerable children.
We would also love to hear about those schools or colleges working hard to engage with their local community and local causes - an ethos of considering and helping others is high on the school’s agenda.
Our Health and Wellbeing category is open to charities and community organisations who have made the best contribution to improving health and wellbeing in Calderdale.
Here, we are looking for dynamic, innovative and high impact organisations providing community-led, patient-led, preventative measures that are improving health in the long term and successfully tackling some of the biggest health problems in the district.
And our Social Enterprise category recognises organisations which address a social need or reinvest profit to achieve its social mission.
The winner will have achieved great impact and be able to demonstrate innovation, staff engagement, customer focus, growth, leadership and financial performance.
