Calderdale Council has announced the closure of Cow Green Car Park due to its poor condition.

The concrete structure was built in the early 1970s and provided 226 public parking spaces - a further 310 spaces were leased as private spaces to Lloyds Banking Group.

The council says car park has now reached the end of its useful life after structural inspections revealed it was in a “very poor condition”.

Alternative ar parking will be provided for Lloyds at Mulcture Hall Road and High Street car parks from Monday January 14.

Mulcture Hall Road will be closed to members of the public and there will only be a limited number of public spaces available in the High Street car park.

A map showing alternative long and short stay Council car parks in Halifax is available on Calderdale Council’s website under the ‘Halifax parking’ section.
