Council puts two £200,000 contracts out to tender

Councillors have agreed to seek bids from businesses and organisations interested in helping voluntary groups and promoting health services.

Both contracts are worth in excess of £200,000, Calderdale Council Cabinet was told.

Currently, voluntary sector infrastructure services are delivered by Voluntary Action Calderdale through a grant. The new contract will reflect the financial climate and external pressures on the voluntary sector.

A Local Heathwatch Service will come into effect next April and will help to shape the planning of health and social care, help people access services and acts as an advocate for complainants.
