The blushing bride said: “I feel really happy.”

“Saying I do was easy; it’s the speech I’m nervous about,” said Dale.

All prepared for his speech best man Daniel Bean, 26, of Halifax, told the Courier his speech wouldn’t embarrass his best mate too much but would tell the tale of when they first met on the rugby field.

Prior to the wedding breakfast the father of the bride John Krebs said: “Giving my daughter away was very emotional. Becky and Dale are very well matched - I wish them all the luck in the world.”

Guests enjoyed a four-course menu - an assortment of starters, roast beef and a trio of desserts - lemon sorbet, strawberry cheescake and chocolate brownie, courtesy of The Venue before enjoying a DJ disco and evening hog roast.

Mr Moore said: “The day was thoroughly enjoyed by the bride, groom and their guests.”

Mr and Mrs Owen would like to give their special thanks to all the Calderdale businesses who supported the Courier Wedding Couple of the Year and made their big day dream a reality.
