Court round-up: Arson accused is held in custody

A man accused of arson has appeared before magistrates.

Stuart Dominiak, 27, of Lodge Close in Luddenden Foot, is accused of deliberately setting fire to a sofa at his ex-partner’s home on July 23.

He will next appear before magistrates on August 1, when he will be committed to the Crown Court.

Trial date decided

A 22-year-old man faces trial at Calderdale Magistrates’ Court after he denied two charges of assault.

Wahid Ramzan of Wallace Street, Halifax, will have his trial heard on October 24.

He disputes the allegation that he assaulted two women by beating them following an incident outside Liquid nightclub in Halifax on June 12.

Driver banned

A former Calderdale man has been banned from driving after he was caught driving without insurance.

Eugen Ferenc, 24, now of Nottingham, was stopped by police on Lilycroft Road in Bradford in October last year.

He was banned for six months after getting 16 points on his licence and will pay costs of £250.

Not guilty plea

A man has denied assault by beating following an incident in Halifax on June 24.

Nathan Greenaway, 23, of Woodcroft in Sowerby Bridge, denied the offence at Calderdale Magistrates’ Court.

He will appear for trial at the magistrates’ court on August 24.

Charge for driver

A driver accused of dangerous driving has appeared before magistrates.

Khurum Ahmed, 23, of Gibbet Street, denies the offence, which is alleged to have taken place on the street where he lives on January 26.

He will appear for trial on August 6.
