A MAN was arrested and a vehicle was seized by police carrying out checks on the border between Calderdale and Bradford.
Officers from the Lower Valley and Wyke neighbourhood policing teams joined forces with other agencies stop 56 vehicles on Tuesday.
One man who was wanted on warrant was arrested, another man was reported for summons, one vehicle was seized, three fines were handed out and three notices were defective vehicles were issued. A man was also given a caution for possessing cannabis.
Sergeant Dean Maddocks, who led the operation, said: “This was a targeted day of action based on previous intelligence, to deny criminals the use of the roads, make sure vehicles were in a roadworthy condition and those transporting scrap metals had the necessary permits in place.”
