HELP is needed to make one of Calderdale’s craftiest events go with a bang.
Hebden Bridge’s Handmade Parade will take place in June.
Organisers want people to think ahead to summer and start coming up with themes and costumes.
The event sees the streets filled with costumes, giant puppets, music and dancing - and more than 4,000 spectators who watched the parade last year.
They want ideas to be posted into a suggestions box at Hebden Bridge Library.
They will reveal the suggestions at an event on March 16.
“We know we’re in for some fantastic, and utterly weird, ideas,” said organiser Rebecca Dearden.
“And that’s just what we want.”
Almost 400 people took part in previous workshops, another 45 took skills training in stilt-walking and sculpture.
But the group are struggling for funding.
It has have been given £5,000 by Hebden Royd Town Council, but that is only a fifth of last year’s budget.
“We have to ensure the town doesn’t lose such a fabulous event and such a unique chance for people to get together, make a mess and make marvellous art,” said Rebecca.
