Crash teen still critically ill

A TEENAGER was still fighting for his life in hospital last night after a crash that killed another man.

Luke Smith, from Luddenden Foot, suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident in Burnley Road, Luddenden Foot.

Last night his condition was described as still critical.

The 18-year-old is understood to have a baby son. He was the passenger in a Peuegot 106 being driven by Nathan Horsfall, which crashed at 8pm last Wednesday.

Mr Horsfall, a 29-year-old carpet fitter from Sowerby Bridge, died in the accident.

His funeral will be on Friday at St Mary’s Church in Luddenden.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to get in touch. The Peugeot was travelling towards Halifax when it went across the carriageway – into the path of an oncoming Volkswagen
