Crews battle huge Leeds blaze

Firefighters are at a waste treatment plant on the outskirts of Leeds.

Crews from Halifax and Brighouse are among those called out following the incident at HW Martin Waste, Beeston, which started around 1.30 am.

Twelve fire engines and two aerial platforms have been sent to the site on Parkside Lane, near the M621 and other crews are on standby in the area.

There are no reports of any injuries, but West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it could take several days to extinguish.
