Towergate Halifax League: Ian Rushworth Blink and you missed it.

Yes, the first half of the season has been and gone and we are not a lot wiser about the possible destination of the league title trophy come mid-September.

The predictions were that it would be wide open in the Premier Division, with Mytholmroyd perhaps slight favourites on the strength of last year's championship and Parish Cup double, and it is turning out that way.

Only 15 points separate leaders Triangle from third-from-bottom Sowerby Bridge and with 10 points possible for a win, there is clearly the potential for a major shake-up in positions over the remaining 11 rounds of fixtures.

Mytholmroyd have managed only one maximum points haul so far - against Sowerby Bridge in the third game - to leave themselves with work to do while only Copley and Bradshaw will be fearing the loss of top section status at this stage.

The four sides still involved in the Parish Cup will be started to get excited at the prospect of an appearance in the final at Copley on Sunday, August 3. Triangle face Mytholm-royd and SBCI tackle Blackley in the last four games in nine days' time.
