Cricket: Holders up against it
ILLINGWORTH'S domination of the Towergate Halifax League's Sunday Section cup competition will come under threat in Lancashire tomorrow.
The Jammy Green outfit, winners of the last two Rod Warhurst Cup finals, travel for a semi-final at Norden, whose top two teams play in the Central Lancashire League.
Norden's thirds head Division One of the Sunday Section while Illingworth, who also lost last week, share second spot with Northowram Hedge Top.
Northowram beat Illingworth by eight wickets six days ago and will start favourites with home advantage in the other semi-final against Lightcliffe, who are at the foot of the top section.
The final is at Booth on Sunday, July 19.
The only league games tomorrow are in Division Three and leaders Sowerby Bridge bid to regain their composure after a battering at Greetland when they travel to improving Queensbury.
