Diners will be invited to turn detective at a murder mystery evening to celebrate the launch of the new book by crime writers RC Bridgestock.
The latest DI Dylan novel ‘Reprobates’ has just been released and promises to be the biggest success so far for husband and wife writing team Bob and Carol Bridgestock, originally from Halifax.
The novel follows the phenomenal success of TV kidnap drama ‘Happy Valley’, which starred Sarah Lancashire. Bob and Carol were storyline consultants on the popular series, filmed in Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley.
To celebrate the book’s launch, Prego Italian restaurant in Brighouse will be transformed into a murder scene with diners turning detective to follow the clues and solve the whodunnit. The event on Saturday, July 5, will include a raffle to raise money for the Forget Me Not children’s hospice.

Carol and Bob are on a tour of Yorkshire to promote the book. Carol said: “The new book is similar to the others in the DI Dylan series in that it is a true police procedural - nothing happens in the novel that is different to how it would be in real life. It gives the reader the chance to sit on the shoulder of a detective and see what happens as the case progresses.”

Tickets for the murder mystery evening, which includes dinner, are £35, are available on 01484 715566. There will be a second event on July 11 at 2pm.
