Appeal follows burglaries

Burglars targeted the Boothtown area of Halifax during a spate of incidents on Tuesday night.

Police are now appealing for information and have increased patrols in the area.

A Ford Connect van was stolen during a burglary in Claremount Road.

A burglary in Salisbury Terrace resulted in personal belongings being taken.

There were also reports of attempted burglaries at other properties in Claremount Road, Salisbury Terrace and Ripon Terrace.

Officers are currently investigating those incidents.

A police spokeswoman said more officers were now operating in the area while enquiries are ongoing.

The increased patrols were also put in place to reassure the local community following the spate of crime.
