Police are trying to trace two teenagers who witnessed an assault in Huddersfield.

A 48-year-old woman was walking her dog on Beech Avenue in Golcar when she was attacked by another female dog walker after an incident involving their pets.

The two teens saw what was happening and came over to help.

The victim suffered injuries which required hospital treatment.

Both of the teenagers are described as white and between 17 and 20 years old. One was wearing a baseball cap and had a goatee beard.

The suspect was described as of afro-caribbean ethnicity, 50 to 55 yearsold, 5ft 4ins tall and of medium to stocky build.

She had short black hair and was wearing a dark waist-length jacket and a long grey skirt.

PC Natalie Bailey, who is investigating the assault, said: “This was a nasty incident and we would very much like to trace the two teenagers who saw what happened and intervened as we need to speak to them as witnesses.

“I would ask them to come forwards and would also appeal to anyone who knows the identity of the victim’s attacker to contact us at the Valleys NPT on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
