Appeal to find witness of Halifax town centre assault

Police in Calderdale are releasing an image of a woman they want to speak who may have witnessed an assault. 

The incident happened on Saturday October 15 at around 5.45am on the Silver Street junction with Central Street in Halifax. 

A 24-year-old male victim was in the town centre, there was an altercation with a male suspect and the victim was left with a cut to the side of his face.  

He recieved treatment for the injury in hospital.

DS Simon Archer, of Calderdale District CID, said: “We are releasing this picture in the hope that it is recognised by the lady herself or by someone else as they may hold vital information to help with our investigation. 

“We would like to speak to her as a potential witness to a nasty assault which left the victim with a facial injury.

“Police would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area on the night who may have witnessed the incident.”
