Armed robbery at Huddersfield bookies

Detectives are appealing for information after an armed raid at a bookmakers in Almondbury.

At around 5.20pm on Monday, a man went into the shop at Townend armed with a hammer and treatened a member of staff, demanding cash.

The shop worker handed over cash and the robber ran out towards the centre of Almondbury.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 6ft 2ins tall, medium build and he was wearing a grey hooded top with a beige scarf over his face and black gloves.
