Arrest over glassing attack in Halifax town centre nightclub

Police investigating a glassing attack on a woman in a Halifax nightclub have arrested a 20-year-old woman.

The 18-year-old victim was standing near the smoking area of Liquid’s lower bar when she was attacked with a bottle.

She suffered serious injuries to her eye and doctors say she could lose her sight.

The woman who was arrested has been released on bail.

Lisa Nicholson, Calderdale Police’s licensing officer, said: “Incidents like this are rare in Calderdale and staff at the nightclub work closely with us to help ensure that people having a night out in Halifax can do so in a safe environment.

“The staff and the management at Liquid nightclub have a good working relationship with police and are working closely with us in this investigation.”
