Attempted mugging in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for witnesses to a mugging bid in Huddersfield.

The victim - a 20-year-old man - was walking through Leeds Roads playing fields when he was was approached by two men.

One of the men demanded the victim’s phone and attacked him. The second man then joined in the assault.

The victim tried to defend himself and the culprits ran off empty-handed after being disturbed by a member of the public.

The victim suffered injuried to his face.

The first suspect was described as white, in his early 20s, around 6ft tall and skinny.

He was wearing black clothing with a hood up, black gloves and had a high pitched voice.

The second suspect was described as mixed race, in his early 20s, around 6ft 2ins tall and of medium build. He was also wearing all black clothing with his hood up and black gloves but had a deeper voice then the first man.

Anyone who has information about the attack, last Wednesday, or who saw the two suspects before or shortly after the offence is asked to contact Detective Constable Divek Singh Uhbi at Huddersfield CID on 101.
