A 16-year-old boy has avoided serious injury after he was shot with an air rifle in Illingworth.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident happened at around 6.45pm on Wednesday on wasteland behind West Bank when the victim was present with his 13-year-old brother.
The victim did not suffer any serious injury as a result of the incident and did not require hospital treatment.
Inspector Allan Raw of the Halifax North and East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:
“We want to speak to two teenage boys in connection with the incident. Both were carrying an air rifle. The first is described as white, aged approximately 16, of average build and wearing a dark hooded top, black adidas tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down each leg.
“The second is also described as 16, of average build and wearing a dark hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
“I would appeal for any witnesses to the incident to contact police on 101.”
