TWO brothers have been jailed after admitting stealing a till and the cash inside from Electric Bowl, Halifax on Saturday.
Martin and Jason Rooney both of Summer Street, Halifax, admitted going into the bowling alley, on Commercial Street, at 10.50pm.
Lisa Beadle, prosecuting, said: “Both defendants were walking past the bowling alley as Jason enters the premises and holds the door for Martin. Martin went to the reception and takes the till with the contents inside.”
The till will cost £300 to replace and there was £100 cash inside.
Both have extensive records and Martin, 44, was only released on licence on September 30.
Jason, 36, was still subject to a licence until February next year.
Joanne Lata, prosecuting, said: “They saw an opportunity and because they have taken drugs they have taken a chance and it hasn’t paid off.”
They were both jailed for 56 days at Calderdale Magistrates’ Court.
