A MAN who smashed his way into a Brighouse amusement arcade and raided machines will be sentenced next month.

Robert Ekis, 36, of Arnold Royd in Rastrick, admitted burgling Nobles in Commercial Street in the early hours of April 23.

It was just a week after a judge at Bradford Crown Court had spared him jail and sentenced him to a community order for another burglary.

Calderdale magistrates were told police were called to the scene of his latest crime after alarms at the premises sounded.

Ekis was found 30 yards away with 253 pound coins, having caused £550 worth of damage to the shop front and games machines.

Ekis, who suffers mental health problems, was remanded in custody until May 14, when he will be sentenced at Bradford.
