Car-jacking bid in Huddersfield

Detectives are looking for a pair of robbers who tried to car-jack a man in Huddersfield yesterday.

A man was driving along Main Avenue in Cowlersley between 6.15pm and 6.45pm when he was flagged down by two men who he thought were wanting directions.

When he stopped and wound down his window he was hit on the head and one of the suspects said: “give me the car” before trying to pull him out of the vehicle.

There was a scuffle and the suspects ran away with the victim’s house and car keys as well as his mobile phone.

The first suspect is described as mixed race, around 21 years old, 6ft tall and slim.

The second is described as white, around 21, 6ft tall and slim.
