British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to about a woman’s suitcase was stolen from a train at Halifax Station.

PC Craig Virco said: “The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Nottingham, was travelling on the 4.45pm Manchester to York service on Monday, March 25.

“As the train approached Halifax, she noticed a man pick up her suitcase and leave the train with it.

“The victim followed the man from the train and into the station and confronted him at the station entrance.”

After the woman spoke with the man, he dropped her suitcase and walked out of the station.

After reviewing CCTV footage from the station, police say they have obtained these images of a man they would like to speak to.

PC Virco said: “Fortunately, the woman bravely confronted the man and managed to get her belongings back, but this isn’t always the case.

“If you recognise the man pictured, or know his whereabouts, then please get in touch.”
