A CHARITY box was the only thing taken when a Halifax town centre sandwich shop was broken into.

The collection box for Overgate Hospice was taken from Le Munch Bunch on Northgate sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

The fridges in the shop had also been left open.

Shop staff say when the thief is found and convicted, the shop will donate £100 to the charity.

Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area or who has any information that might help police should call them via 101. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
