Police officers met passengers yesterday(Sat) at Halifax bus station to offer crime prevention advice and listen to concerns.
There have been recent incidents of anti-social behaviour at the bus station and police and partners are involved in a specific operation identifying and dealing with concerns in and around the area.
Calderdale Town Centre Sgt Jayne Maiden said: “We recognise anti-social behaviour is a priority for the public and that this can have adverse affects on the daily lives of those communities living and working within the district.
“We take any report of such behaviour very seriously and it will simply not be tolerated.
“It is important that people in Calderdale are safe and feel safe in going about their business without encountering groups behaving in an anti-social manner.”
She said anyone who experiences such behaviour can contact the police on 101 or text ‘Safertravel’ and message to 07786 200 806 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
