Calderdale’s coroner Peter Straker has been suspended after complaints against him.
As reported by the Courier, an investigation was launched by the Office for Judicial Complaints following the complaints.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: “As part of the Office for Judicial Complaints’ investigation into complaints made against Peter Straker, the Lord Chancellor and Lord Chief Justice have suspended Dr Straker from office pending the conclusion of its investigation.”
A number of complaints about the coroner are understood to have been received.
Dr Straker became coroner last year following the retirement of Roger Whittaker.
