Crews called to arson at derelict building in Wakefield

Crews were called to a suspected arson at a derelict building in Wakefield.

Firefighters from Wakefield attended the incident in a derelict community centre building on Stanbridge Lane at 9pm last night (Tuesday).

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Nobody was injured.

Police attended the incident and a West Yorkshire Fire Service spokesperson said they suspected deliberate ignition.

Firefighters were at the scene for around an hour.
