Cyclist left with serious head injuries after crash

A cyclist was left with serious head injuries after being in collision with a car in Halifax last night (Monday).

The incident, involving a silver Vauxhall Astra, happened on Gibbet Street at the junction with Sandhall Lane at 7.24pm.

The cyclist was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary by ambulance where his condition is described as “serious but non-life threatening”.

The driver stayed at the scene.
