Dodgy Drop vodka contains chloroform

Trading Standards have released a warning on an illegally distributed alcohol brand. “Drop Vodka” is its name and it has circulated in West Yorkshire.

West Yorkshire public analyst found the bottles of vodka to contain chloroform and isopropyl alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol is widely used as a solvent and cleaning agent. Chloroform as most people know is dangerous unrestricted and combined with alcohol it is a probable carcinogen and highly toxic.

This illegal brand is believed to be distributed by “white van men” to individual retailers. Councillor Conrad Winterburn, Deputy Chair of Trading Standards Committee stated “The people behind the production and distribution of “Drop Vodka” are undoubtedly criminals, but anyone selling it to the public is equally culpable.”
