E-fit released after stabbing in Bingley

E-fit released after stabbing in Bingley

Police investigating a stabbing in Bingley have released this e-fit.

A 53-year-old was stabbed in the neck on his doorstep on Wagon Lane at around 10.45pm on December 15.

Before the attack, the victim has been disturbed by a light in his garden. He spoke to the suspect who claimed he had lost an item in his garden.

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Morgan of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said: “Numerous inquiries have been made to trace the individual responsible for this shocking and seemingly random crime.

“Working with the victim, we have been able to create an e-fit which we hope will encourage further information about his attacker.

“He is described as white, around 20 years old, 6 foot tall, of thin build and wearing a distinctive, patterned woollen jumper

“He also had dark wavy hair, thick bushy eyebrows, was clean shaven and spoke in an articulate manner.

“I am particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw a man fitting this description, shining a laser pen in the local area around this time.

“We believe this device drew the attention of the victim to the window moments before the incident took place.

“Likewise, I am keen to identify three men seen walking past the Fisherman’s pub at 10.30pm that same evening and away from Wagon Lane.

“Each is described as white, of slim build with short hair. One of these men, wearing a puffer style jacket was also carrying a chair.

“It is important that we speak to them, as they may be able to assist in our enquiries and draw together the facts we need.

“We know that there had been a Christmas party taking place at the Bingley Rugby Club on the evening in question and someone from this event may have seen the men fitting these descriptions.

“Thankfully, the victim is now out of hospital and I am calling on the community to help him in receiving the justice he deserves.

“If you have any information or can identify the man in the e-fit, please call us immediately 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.”
