Five cows were reported trampling people’s gardens in Sowerby Bridge this morning.
Police were called to Hope Street at around 11.30am to reports the creatures were in the street and jumping in gardens.
A resident tried to usher them towards Alan Park but they returned to Hope Street.
They were soon returned to a nearby field where they had escaped from.
Meanwhile a cow reported to have been making its way through Halifax last night has also been returned to its field.
The large white animal was first reported in a garden in Church Lane at 6.30pm and was seen heading towards Pellon Lane.
It was then reported at Sandbeds Terrace, then Moor End Road, then Sandbeds Road before the farmer who owns it was identified and came to return it to its field.
