Forensic officers have been searching land in Wheatley after the discovery of a human skull.
Specialist teams were called to the site, off Hebble Lane, and set up a forensic tent to try and find further body parts.
Officers spent most of today (Monday) examining the area but are yet to find anything further of note.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Nick Wallen said: “West Yorkshire Police along with resources from the Yorkshire and the Humber Scientific Support Services have been examining and searching an area of land adjacent to Hebble Lane at Halifax after part of a human skull was located in the area.
“Officers have been at the site all day and nothing of further significance has been found.
“We are currently working to establish whom this skull might belong to and how it came to be here.”
There is no information yet as to how long the skull has been there.
