Labourer catches college thieves

A FORMER student who stole a monitor from his old college has been given a curfew order.

Zayn Younis, 22, from Halifax, stole the computer equipment from Calderdale College on May 5 this year.

Younis was stopped by a labourer, working at the college, as he tried to leave the building.

The builder forced him to hand over the monitor which was returned to the college.

Calderdale Magistrates Court heard that Younis, and another un-named man, went into the college and Younis left with the monitor up his jumper before the labourer stopped him outside.

Younis said he had been bullied into it by the other man, whom he was too scared to name.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of theft and will be subject to a curfew for six weeks.
