Long-service medal given to detective

A DETECTIVE from Calderdale has been recognised for her long service.

Detective Inspector Gail Lawrie, from Calderdale Police’s Safeguarding Unit, was among officers and staff awarded medals for commitment to the force for 20 years.

The medals were presented at a ceremony at West Yorkshire Police headquarters in Wakefield by Chief Constable Sir Norman Bettison, High Sheriff of West Yorkshire Anthony Grant and chairman of the police authority Councillor Mark Burns-Williamson.
