A 59-year-old man has been arrested in connection with three recent allegations of attempted abductions in the Halifax area.

The arrest was made yesterday after reports of a man acting suspiciously outside a school in the area.

He remains in police custody.

The first attempted abduction was of a seven-year-old girl in the Stanningley area of Mixenden on October 1 at 6pm. The second was two 13-year-old girls walking in Moor End Road, Pellon, at around 7.10pm on the same night.

They are also investigating another incident that happened on September 17 on Edward Road, Sowerby Bridge, when an eight-year-old girl was approached by a man in a dark coloured van.
