Police investigating a break-in at the cafe at Hebden Bridge Railway Station have arrested a man.

A Suzuki 4x4 was used to try and pull the doors off the Coffee Station in the early hours of last Thursday.

Two windows were smashed and confectionary, keys and an iPod docking station were stolen.

The Suzuki was abandoned when police arrived at the scene.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We believe an individual tied a rope to the end of their vehicle, attached it the door and tried to pull it off its hinges. A couple of windows were also smashed.”

The cafe had to stay shut on Thursday but re-opened on Friday.

A 19-year-old man from Hebden Bridge has been arrested in connection with the break-in.

Anyone with information about the theft, at 5.16am last Thursday, should call British Transport Police on 0800 405040.
