Man attacked and his van stolen in Huddersfield assault

Detectives want to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place at 11.20 am on Acre Lane, Huddersfield, yesterday.(Wed)

The victim was working as a driver for a delivery firm and was approached by two men while inside the van and assaulted.

The men then demanded the keys and pushed the victim out of the van before making off in the vehicle up Acre Lane.

The abandoned vehicle was located a short time later on Royd Road, Meltham.

Both men were described as white and wearing balaclavas. One was in his mid 30’s, slim and around 6ft tall.

The other was described as chubby and shorter than the other man.

DC Richard Brooke of Huddersfield CID, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with information to come forward and assist us in identifying those responsible.”
