A man has been charged with robbery after a gang of three masked men stormed a newsagent.

The incident happened at around 6pm last Monday night when the trio entered the Costcutter newsagent on Clough Lane Mixenden before making off with cash.

One man has been arrested and charged with the offence and is expected to appear before Calderdale Magistrates today.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to find the others involved in the robbery.

Three youths have also appeared in court charged with robbing a newsagent in Pellon Lane on April 23.

They are next due to appear before a Youth Court on Wednesday.

It follows the appearance of a 16-year-old youth before Magistrates last Thursday.

The teen, who is alleged to have been carrying a sword, was charged with two counts of robbery, one at the Pellon Lane newsagent and the other on Battinson Road on April 10.

Police say while the robberies at Pellon Lane and Battinson Road are linked, neither are linked to the Clough Lane robbery.
