Man in hospital after car-jacking in Huddersfield last night

Detectives are hunting a gang of seven who attacked a man in Huddersfield last night.

The 29-year-old victim was in his silver car, parked on Moorend Road, near to the junction with Walpole Road, in Lockwood at 7.30pm when he was approached by the group.

In an unprovoked attack, the suspects dragged the victim from the car and assaulted him, before fleeing the scene.

The victim was able to get to a friend in a nearby vehicle, by which time, police and the ambulance service had arrived at the scene.

The victim was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for injuries to his head and body and is currently still in hospital in a stable condition.

He has so far only been able to describe his attackers as a group of around seven men.
