A MAN will spend 16 weeks in prison for having a two-inch blade in his pocket.
Phillip Hambrey, 45, of Canterbury, Halifax, was asked to leave Halifax town centre after being found in drink on September 26.
But he later returned and was arrested and once at the police station the knife was discovered.
Hambrey said he had bought the knife for cutting wallpaper as he was decorating his home and forgot it was in his pocket.
Magistrates said that Hambrey had breached previous community orders and the only option was a custodial sentence.
