Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was mugged in Huddersfield yesterday.

The victim - a 23-year-old man - was walking along Lightcliffe Road in Crosland Moor with his rucksack over his shoulder when he felt a push to the middle of his back which caused him to fall to the ground.

The suspect grabbed his rucksack, dragged it from his arm and ran off up Lightcliffe Road and left onto Park Road.

He is described as a white man, around 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall and thin. He was wearing a black shiny coat, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers with white soles.

The stolen rucksack contained an iPad, earphones, paperwork and a gym kit.
