A woman was assaulted and robbed by a man as she walked through the streets of Halifax.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the early-morning attack which happened as the 21-year-old woman walked along Savile Park Road at around 2.45am on Sunday, October 26.

The man pushed the victim to the floor from behind, before grabbing her handbag off her shoulder. He then ran off in the Hill Street direction.

The man is described as being of large build.

Detective Constable Louise Halliwell, of Calderdale CID, said: “We would urge anyone who has witnessed this robbery or who has seen a man running from the scene to call Calderdale CID on 101.”
