Man shot in Bradford

Police are appealing for witnesses following a shooting in Bradford last night. (Tue)

Bradford South CID are appealing for information following the incident outside the Holmewood Social Club on Broadstone Way at about 5.45pm

Emergency services were called to the scene after a member of the public reported hearing what he believed to be a gun shot and, on attending, discovered a 28-year-old man with facial injuries.

He has been taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries which are non life threatening.

Active enquiries are ongoing to determine the precise circumstances of what took place.

DCI Simon Atkinson of West Yorkshire Police said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information about what happened.

“Fortunately the victim received injuries which are not life threatening but it is important we catch those responsible as quickly as possible and are looking for witnesses to help us build a picture of what has occurred.

“Such violence is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
