Man still being sought over Christmas incident

Police in Hebden Bridge are appealing for help to trace a man they want to speak to in connection with a possible assault.

He is described as white, of a skinny build, in his 40s and around 5’9” tall.

He had dirty ginger dreadlocks which extended about three quarters of the way down his back.

The man was wearing a dark outer jacket, black combat trousers and black walking type boots.

At the time he was carrying a navy coloured shoulder bag and a biodegradable food bag full of food scraps.

It is thought that he is a local man who sleeps rough in the area.

The incident officers want to speak to him about happened on Christmas Eve.

A woman was walking along St George’s Street, Hebden Bridge, at approximately 10 am.

As she crossed over the road towards Valley Road she noticed a man walking alongside her. She then heard shouting and then felt a blow to her right thigh.

The man then made off from the area.
