Man victim of attempted mugging in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for witnessed to an attempted mugging in Deighton in Huddersfield yesterday.

A 28-year-old man was walking on Woodhouse Hill between 3am and 3.10am when he was approached by two men.

They demanded he hand over property and then tried to hit him but the victim managed to block their blows.

The men ran off. The victim was not hurt and nothing was stolen.

The first man officers want to speak to in connection with the incident is described as aged in his early 20s and of mixed race. He was wearing dark clothing including tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top.

The second man is described as black and also aged in his early 20s and wearing dark clothing including tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Huddersfield CID on 101.
